A graduate from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1992. He then did a General Practice Residency in Chicago at Rush Presbyterian Hospital from 1992-1993. He then became an associate dentist in Barrington and then Palatine. In 1999 Barber Family Dentistry was opened in Cary. Dr. Barber and his family have lived in Cary for over 12 years. Dr. Barber feels fortunate to be working and living in the same community as great bonds of friendship are formed. Dr. Barber makes keeping up with new techniques and materials a priority. He attends many dental courses each year to make sure that his patients are receiving the best care possible. Dr. Barber is currently the Vice President of the Mc Henry County Dental Society, and has been a member of the Illinois State Dental Society and American Dental Association for several years. Dr. Barber is proud to have Dr. Gail Pokorny as an associate. Dr.'s Barber and Pokorny were classmates at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and were in the same graduating class. He feels it is a great relationship being able to work alongside someone with the same philosopy and work ethic.

My sincere intention is to provide the finest dental service. Keeping abreast of new techniques and technology, I'll answer your questions and address your concerns. I value your patronage, and anticipate a mutually successful, long-term partnership. Together, we'll ensure consistent dental health through diligent prevention methods and speedy attention to potential problems. I believe that investing in technology is one way to make a patient's dental visit quicker and easier. I also believe that the repair and replacement of teeth should return a patient to optimum function and esthetics.

 

A graduate from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1992.  After completing a 1 year residency at the College of Dentistry she became an associate in a dental practice in Vernon Hills, IL.  Dr Pokorny practiced at that location for 10 years, until coming to Barber Family Dentistry in 2003.  Changing locations enabled her to work closer to home as she raises her children with her husband. Dr. Pokorny feels strongly about the importance of remaining educated about current dental topics and therefore is a member of Mc Henry County Dental Society as well as the Illinois State Dental Society and American Dental Society.

Philosophy

It is my goal to provide the highest quality dental care possible with an emphasis on personal attention.  I  strive to provide this to the patient in a friendly and caring manner.  I am devoted to increasing my knowledge in the dental field by attending dental courses to provide patients with various treatment options.  I realize that each client has unique goals, desires and needs. Together, with the patient, I enjoy designing a comprehensive plan to better their dental health, function and cosmetics.
